I am a registered nurse with over 20 years’ experience in Tissue Viability, which is my passion. I am dedicated to ensuring that patients receive the best care, evidence based. Delivered to the highest standards. I would ensure that all treatment options were explored, in ensuring healing and positive outcomes. During my time as a nurse, I have received an outstanding patient service award and an award for the contribution to the student experience.
As a child I received the Queen's Guide award and had always wanted to achieve the Queen's Nurse award as an adult, which I received in 2019, as a Tissue Viability Nurse. I received this award for giving, in my service, a high standard of practice and patient centered care within the community, driving nursing forward to the best of my ability and encouraging others. To receive the award, I wrote about my experience as a nurse, my values, and suitability for the honor. To support this, I also provided four service user testimonials for the care they received and also from a clinician’s point of view. It then went to a panel of judges to review and decide the outcome. Every year we must renew our status and there is an expectation that we will continue to be ambassadors for the role. I am immensely proud to be acknowledged for my contribution to patient care and the nursing profession which I have been part of for many years and continue to give excellent care.
I also enjoy teaching and helping others to learn and to achieve their best. I am personable and supportive and pay great diligence in all I do.
