The majority of my nursing career has been based around managing wards and improving clinical environments.
In 2015, I was awarded the South Wales Manager of the year award from the Cardiff and Vale NHS trust. This led to me being headhunted by the private sector to experience how to support and manage a business in healthcare whilst ensuring excellent standards of clinical care.
I was given legal training to investigate any significant incidents, and I was responsible for route, cause and analysis investigations should it be required.
Having a young family, I decided to go back to ward based care following management as this allowed for me to spend more time with my children.
I have always been passionate about nursing and a great advocate for the profession and the patients.
