- Almost two decades of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Lead nurse for Rheumatology and Programmed Investigation unit – delivering intravenous iron infusions, blood transfusions, biologic medications to gastrointestinal and rheumatological diseases, with a variety of day case tests completed.
- Matron for quality Improvement – assessed and audited all wards and departments from all specialties to ensure CQC standards were being achieved with improvement plans to achieve a better outcome.
- Ward manager of a 35 bedded polytrauma and rehabilitation unit, large cohort of brain and spinal injuries, multiple injuries, orthopaedic injuries and loss of limb. Managed large MDT team to co-ordinate care and recovery to complex patients.
- Breast Cancer Specialist nurse, assess and examine a variety of breast conditions and managed a case load of cancer patients, supporting their cancer journey, surgery, reconstructions and psychological support.
- Medical High dependency – caring for acute and critically ill patients, managed tracheostomies, non-invasive ventilation such as CPAP and BiPAP. Delivery Advanced life support to deteriorating patients.
- Accident and Emergency – cared for minor injury patients, wound dressing, stitching, gluing wounds. Cared for acutely unwell patients and critically ill patients needing life saving care.
I am an experienced Registered Nurse with almost 20 years of NHS experience across a wide range of clinical specialties, including Trauma & Orthopaedics, Major Trauma, Emergency Care, Acute Medicine, Oncology, Breast Cancer, and Rheumatology. I have held senior leadership positions including Ward Manager, Quality Matron, and Lead Nurse, with extensive expertise in clinical governance, patient safety, safeguarding, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary team leadership.
I have significant experience caring for patients with complex acute and chronic conditions and have specialist knowledge in trauma, rehabilitation, high-dependency care, ventilatory support and oncology. As an Expert Witness, I combine my extensive clinical and leadership experience with a thorough understanding of professional nursing standards, clinical governance, and Civil Procedure Rules to deliver clear, evidence-based reports.
