Emma has over a decade of experience working within the health service and working as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She has a varied background within Acute Medicine, Gastroenterology, Accident and Emergency and Respiratory Medicine. Emma is an autonomous practitioner and advocates patient safety and patient centered-care.
Emma is an independent prescriber and manages a wide range of clinical presentations, working within the multi-disciplinary team. Emma performs advanced procedures such as lumbar punctures and abdominal paracentesis. She is competent in interpreting a wide range of diagnostic investigations.
Emma has a role within clinical governance to maintain patient safety and improve patient care. She also supports and educates practitioners including Junior Doctors.

I have over a decade’s experience of working within secondary care and in Advanced Practice. I feel privileged to work in a profession allowing me to have a positive impact on someone’s life.

I am passionate about patient safety and patient centred care utilising current guidelines. I work within the multi-disciplinary team with a role in education and clinical governance. I have advanced procedural skills which allow me to perform a wide range of diagnostic tests and interpret results. I manage chronic diseases as well as acute presentations. I am passionate about professional development and supporting other members of the team to grow and learn.
